Limerick competition winners: Runners Up for Thirteen and Under: I once met a dog called Stan.
Winner of Thirteen and Under:
I once met a dog called Stan,
Who lived with a man in a van,
They drove up to Crufts,
And beat all the pups,
Stan woofed 'who's the winner? I AM!!'
India Cotton
I once met a dog called Stan,
Who could sniff out a great ice cream van.
He said to one bloke,
This isn't a joke,
I could spot a good flake from Westham!
Emily Sims
I once met a dog called Stan......
Who got caught in an electric fan,
He whizzed round and round,
It took his paws off the ground,
And he came out all wrinkled like Gran!
Tilly Springer
Winner of Over Thirteens:
I once met a dog called Stan,
Who married a poodle called Ann.
They were incredibly happy,
And insatiably yappy,
'Till she ran off with a dachshund; called Dan!
Emma Burton
Runners Up for Over Thirteens:
I once met a dog called Stan
Who married a mutt from Milan:
And just as I feared
Three puppies appeared,
Puccini, Fellini, and Fran.
Andrew Lobb
Country and Western's number one fan.
He'd line dance in Montanna
In his rhinestoned bandana,
Whilst howling 'Stand by your Stan'.
